My parents have two cats. One is smart and steers very clear of Pepper. The other is either not too bright, or just craves attention enough that she is willing to let Pepper "pet" her. We are trying to teach Pepper to be gentle but so far the cat has done very well with a bit of hair and tail pulling. My mom has had to rescue Misty May out from underneath Pepper a time or two. I think this cat deserves a tolerance award.

Simple Entertainment

Pepper loves water. Any water. Even water from the kitchen faucet.

Walks with Grandma

Almost every day, Pepper and Grandma Em go on a long walk. Pepper loves these walks so much! She spends a few minutes looking around but very soon is lulled to sleep. Sometimes she takes her longest naps in the stroller.

Our Little Mozart?

Pepper seems to already really enjoy the piano. She gets her whole body into it and even will "sing" along. I included this video so that you could enjoy one of her newest improvisations. We are expecting great things since her parents both REALLY enjoyed piano lessons as children (sense the sarcasm). 

Green Silence

Jo's shoe is longer than her leg!

Saager's had a great after Christmas sale that Jo and I took advantage of. We both bought the Brooks Green Silence, a low profile shoe we can use for road runs. Jo tried them out and said they are "super light, super smooth". Pepper "tried them out" and gave her slobbery stamp of approval. I can't wait to get out there for a run soon!

It Takes a Village

Jo and I have always believed that it takes a village to raise a child and we are lucky to have a "village" around us. Now we can also say that it takes a village to raise a house. We are so blessed to have Dad always out at the job sight on his days off helping Jo with cleaning, cutting siding, or anything else that needs to be done. Uncle Ralph also helped Jo over the New Years weekend with the siding. Then Uncle Ralph offered to stay through the WHOLE week to help Jo put up siding! They have been working very hard and thankfully the weather is cooperating. It was cold at the beginning of the week but no rain or snow. The house is looking beautiful! Thank you so much Ralph for this incredible gift!

Developmental Whirlwind

It is challenging to keep up with all of Pepper's firsts over the holidays so I made a little list before I forget.
     

1. Christmas Day her first tooth appeared. 

2. Two days after Christmas she started saying Da,Da,Da,Da. 

3. She has started consistently pulling herself to a standing position.

4. She was introduced to, and of course loves, the wonderful world of Cheerios.

5.  New Years Weekend she started clapping and waving. 

We are having such a blast being a part of all of these firsts. What an amazing little girl we have!
