Breakfast with Friends

On Sunday we had the privilege of introducing Pepper to Ben and Erin. We ate breakfast at Mother's, which brought back fond memories of my time spent in Portland. We had such a nice day visiting and catching up. The time flew by and, as usual, it made us want to live closer to our good friends. Maybe someday they will make it back to the Northwest. Until then, we will plan on some trips to California's high desert.

Carl and Mindy's Shower

Carl and Mindy are getting married in November so when they decided to come up to Portland for the softball tournament we planned a little family wedding shower for them. We whipped up some yummy finger foods and gave them a little start to the furnishing of their future home. We are so excited for them!

Pepper's First Music Lesson

Leave it up to Uncle Aaron and Grandpa Lee to introduce Pepper to creating music at 4 months. 

She seemed pretty excited about Aaron's playing and their singing, despite her being a bit grumpy.

Hangin' with Sebastian

Sebastian is growing up so fast! I can remember when he was a tiny baby at our wedding... 

Jo, Pepper, and I had a fun time staying with Sebastian and Katrina when we were in Portland. Sebastian even held Pepper for the first time. He will be a favorite cousin for her to follow around soon, I'm sure!

40 Years of Love!

August 15, 1971...Mom and Dad were married here in Walla Walla. They were 21 years old. Forty years later they are still married and having more fun together than ever. That is a milestone we had to celebrate! We managed a surprise party for them at the Spaghetti Factory by the river in Portland. The trolly was bursting with food, jokes, singing, and laughter. We sure know how to enjoy ourselves! Oh, and we can't forget about the organic chemistry textbook full of money for a weekend getaway. I'm sure they will enjoy many more amazing years together!

The Pacifier

Jo tried the pacifier one more time in hopes that she would like it more than her thumb. 

Voila! She acts like she has never tasted anything so good!

The Thumb

 

Not ideal. It is hard to get rid of a thumb when a child grows too old to be sucking it. And in our culture, thumb sucking in grade school is just not well accepted... unfortunately she forcefully spits out the pacifier every time.
