OOOOOOOOO, what's this?

Grandpa John's birthday was such a fun day! We started out with an excellent breakfast at the Maple Counter Cafe, a new restaurant in Walla Walla. I would recommend the Baja Scramble, so yummy! After that we strolled around Walla Walla, window shopping. Later in the day, the Coffee's came over to enjoy some cake. Grandpa John opened up a very cool gift from all of his kids...an iPAD! It was clear that it will be well used, in fact we could hardly pull his and Jo's attention away from it for the rest of the evening! We got to laughing so hard at the camera function, taking funny pictures of everyone. All in all, John's 72nd birthday was a great day! We are so thankful for you Grandpa John!

My wonderful parents.

My good friend Corrie sent us a really nice backpack that she had used a few times with her boys. This weekend we decided to try it out on a hike up Southfork. My parents are always game for a bit of exercise so they joined us. We went about 6 miles and found that the backpack is quite comfortable. Not only that but Pepper loves it! She sits up high (especially when Jo is carrying her) and can see forward, which she seemed incredibly pleased with.  She looked around and "talked" for the first mile and then fell fast asleep. We are very glad to have a great way to carry Pepper while we exercise now. Thank you so much Corrie!

Daddy Jo

Jo is an incredible dad. There is nothing else to say.

Pepper is fascinated with the race medals that hang above the couch. There are many reasons for this, such as the bright ribbons attached to them and the fun clinking noises they make. Regardless, I like tell her about all the fun that we have had on the different runs. We can't wait until she can join us on a run. Bloomsday, here we come!

My parents have two cats. One is smart and steers very clear of Pepper. The other is either not too bright, or just craves attention enough that she is willing to let Pepper "pet" her. We are trying to teach Pepper to be gentle but so far the cat has done very well with a bit of hair and tail pulling. My mom has had to rescue Misty May out from underneath Pepper a time or two. I think this cat deserves a tolerance award.
