Pappy & Harriets
My mom and Dad were so kind to babysit Pepper so Jo and I could meet Erin Adams at a cool saloon/restaurant that Ben and her introduced us to last year, Pappy and Harriets. It is like no other place. In Pioneertown and looking like a bar seen in an old western, Pappy and Harriets lived a previous life as an movie set. Later, it became the quintessential biker bar, and slowly morphed through the years into its current life as a great place for entertainment out in the middle of the desert. A local band hosts Sunday Night Rock n' Roll Services. The musicians are actually quite good, and quirky, which makes it all the more interesting, Jo's favorite being the drummer, who appears high on life... If you ever find yourself out in the desert near Joshua Tree National Park (that's not off the beaten path at all), we would recommend stopping by this little place for a bite of food and some tunes.
