Our plans to hike up Hurricane Creek trail were quickly thwarted by a nice sized avalanche blocking the road. We explored this snow pile a bit and marveled at its height and width. Then, after a couple of rocks came spontaneously rolling down the hill above our cars, we decided that a hike nearer to the lake would be just fine.
